Cutchogue St. Pat's Parade Seeks Pooches and Their Owners to March
North Fork Animal Welfare League sponsors pooch participation in 2012 Cutchogue St. Patrick's Day Parade.
Have a dog and want to march in a St. Patrick's Day parade? You're in luck this year.
The North Fork Animal Welfare League is inviting North Fork dog owners and their pets to join them as the canine contingent in this year’s Cutchogue St. Patrick’s Day Parade, sponsored by the North Fork Chamber of Commerce, set for March 10. All dogs are welcome — especially if they are festooned in green.
The animal welfare league section will assemble at 1:30 p.m. on the corner of Cox Lane and Route 25 in Cutchogue. The parade will start at 2 p.m. and will terminate at Griffing Street and New Suffolk Road. Festivities will run until about 5 p.m.
Owners are cautioned not to bring dogs that are afraid of loud noises, people and other dogs. Retractable leashes are not permitted in the parade.
“There is no greater joy for those of us who rescue animals than seeing our alumni and other dogs happy and healthy enjoying themselves in such a community event”, said Gillian Wood Pultz, North Fork Animal Welfare League's Executive Director. “We hope all of our adopters and friends join us in this grand parade to support our cause”.
